A Final Note

This project and the modules we’ve put together should have given you a good basic awareness of email security.

 We also hope you’ll appreciate the challenge facing your friendly IT admin, consultant or service provider. We say that as IT professionals and as part of a small business ourselves. We hope the next time a strange email comes across your inbox or you wind up on phishy looking site, you’ll be armed with a healthy dose of scepticism.

This is a good time to make one last point. Email security, as with any security, is a constant learning and evolving experience. The methods of attack used by criminals will always be a combination of really obvious vectors that they hope will catch the unaware, along with the highly advanced socially engineered attacks that can fool even the most knowledgeable and paranoid individuals.

Being cyber aware and ensuring your security is an ongoing responsibility of IT departments, management, and individuals. To be truly secure, it really needs to be a group effort. If you’ve taken the steps to go through this email security awareness program, you’ve taken a very positive step.

Congratulations…But remember though, the learning never stops.
